Women are underrepresented in decision-making on many platforms. AMWIK addresses this by actively training journalists and media houses on publishing gender-responsive stories, training women on amplifying their voices and using the media to articulate issues, training women aspirants on leveraging on media to improve their communication skills and branding themselves and profiling women in leadership positions.

UNITED SOCIETY AGAINST FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE (USAWA) PROGRAM

Funded by USAID, the United Society Against Fraud, Waste and Abuse (USAWA) program is implemented by Transparency International Kenya in partnership with the Association of Media Women in Kenya, Global Compact Network Kenya, and the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya.
USAWA aims to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse for improved health service delivery in Isiolo, Kakamega, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Nakuru counties.
The expected outcomes include: increased citizen action to address fraud, waste, and abuse in the health sector; strengthened health leadership, governance, financing and commodity systems in the health sector at the county level to increase transparency, accountability and participation; and improved enforcement of relevant laws, policies and procedures to reduce fraud, waste and abuse at national and county levels.
