ABOUT US

The Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) is a national media Association established in 1982 and registered under the Societies Act as a non-profit organization.  

AMWIK was started by a group of women journalists before the 1985 UN Women’s Conference in Nairobi to support, protect, and recognize the critical role of female journalists at a time when the voices of women and their issues received very little attention in the media. Continue reading
