AMWIK Equips New Leadership Team Through Strategic Induction

The Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) has taken a significant step in strengthening its governance through a comprehensive induction program for its newly appointed Board and Trustees. Supported by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK), the dynamic session aimed to prepare the leadership team to steer the organization with clarity and purpose.
The incoming board brings together a formidable mix of expertise from media, academia, and development sectors. Leading the team is Chairperson Robi Koki Ochieng, supported by Vice Chairperson Elizabeth Limagur and Treasurer Joyce Mbataru. Board members Mary Mwendwa, Lynn Nzambi, and Nancy Agutu complete the leadership lineup. The Board of Trustees comprises Anne Anjao Eboi, Mercy Wairimu Maina, and Victoria Musimbi Masaya, all respected professionals in their respective fields.
The intensive orientation program covered multiple critical areas to ensure effective governance. Participants engaged deeply with AMWIK’s constitution and strategic priorities, gaining clarity on the organization’s legal framework and long-term vision. The session also examined ongoing projects and future initiatives, providing leaders with the context needed to make informed decisions.
A significant portion of the induction focused on governance structures and ethical leadership. Through interactive discussions, the new leadership team explored their roles and responsibilities, with emphasis on maintaining transparency and accountability. The program also highlighted best practices in corporate governance, equipping the team to navigate complex organizational challenges.
This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for AMWIK as it seeks to expand its impact in Kenya’s media landscape. The organization remains committed to its core mission of empowering women in media and advocating for gender equality. With this strong foundation in place, the new leadership is well-positioned to drive innovation, influence policy, and create more opportunities for women in the sector.
The induction program underscores AMWIK’s dedication to institutional strengthening and sustainable growth. As the new team takes office, stakeholders anticipate fresh perspectives that will advance the organization’s objectives while maintaining its legacy of excellence.
