A delegation from the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) paid a courtesy visit to the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) to reinforce their ongoing partnership. Both organizations share a long history of collaborative efforts to enhance the media sector in Kenya.
During the meeting, AMWIK Executive Director, Queenter Mbori praised MCK for its continued cooperation. “We consider MCK a valuable partner and are dedicated to strengthening our collaboration on various initiatives that benefit our members and the media industry as a whole,” she remarked.
Victor Bwire, MCK’s Director for Media Training and Development, highlighted the importance of robust institutions for a thriving media landscape and press freedom. “We recognize AMWIK’s significant contributions and are eager to expand our collaboration nationwide to address the key challenges facing the media sector,” he stated.
The discussions centered on broadening the partnership to address critical industry issues. These include improving access to information, enhancing working conditions for journalists, combating sexual harassment, and building resilience and sustainability within the media sector.
