The People Dialogue Festival (PDF) is set to return for its 7th edition from March 5th to 8th, 2025, at the iconic Uhuru Park Grounds in Nairobi.

This year’s theme, “Building a Collaborative Democracy for Kenya’s Sustainable Future,” reflects a commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue among diverse stakeholders in Kenya. As a proud partner of this festival, the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) recognizes the vital role that media plays in amplifying voices, challenging norms, and creating spaces for meaningful dialogue.

At AMWIK, we believe that the media serves as a cornerstone of democracy. It is not merely a conduit for information but a powerful platform for public discourse. During the PDF, we will explore how media can further enhance its role in shaping Kenya’s democratic landscape. By facilitating discussions on governance, accountability, and citizen engagement, we aim to empower participants to harness their voices effectively.

The PDF is designed to include marginalized voices that are often overlooked in traditional political dialogues. This year’s festival will emphasize participation from women, youth, persons with disabilities, and grassroots organizations. By ensuring that these groups have a seat at the table, we can foster a more inclusive approach to governance and policy-making. AMWIK is committed to advocating for these underrepresented populations and will actively participate in sessions focused on their empowerment.

Participants can look forward to an array of activities aimed at promoting dialogue and understanding among various societal segments:

Interactive Workshops: Engage in hands-on sessions that tackle pressing issues such as governance reforms and socio-economic challenges.

Art Exhibitions: Experience creative expressions that highlight societal issues and promote dialogue through art.

Panel Discussions: Hear from experts and thought leaders on topics relevant to Kenya’s democratic future.

We invite everyone to join us at Uhuru Park for this transformative event. The PDF is not just an opportunity for dialogue; it is a movement towards a more collaborative and sustainable future for Kenya. Mark your calendars for March 5th to 8th, 2025, and be part of this crucial conversation about our nation’s future. Entrance is free, so come ready to engage, learn, and contribute your voice.Together, let us build a collaborative democracy that reflects the aspirations of all Kenyans.
