Zubeida Kananu elected the new Kenya Editors Guild president

KTN News journalist Zubeida Kananu is the new and first female president of the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) following editors’ elections during an annual general meeting held on Saturday, April 29 in Nairobi.
Kananu takes over the reins from Churchill Otieno who she served under as vice president for a two-year term. Ruth Nesoba also takes over as vice president of the guild.
“I am very happy and I lack words to express myself. When I joined, Churchill held my hand, he brought us together as colleagues. I make a commitment to serve you all and I promise not to let you down,” Kananu said following her victory.
AMWIK congratulates the incoming officials and looks forward to working with them to promote the status of the industry while advocating for women’s rights.
