Vote of confidence for AMWIK Board
Three AMWIK board members– Pamela Mburia (Chairperson), Tabitha Onyinge (Vice Chairperson) and Faith Kimotho (treasurer) got a nod to serve another two-year term during the members’ Annual General Meeting held on 25 April 2015.
The trio went in unopposed in elections held during the AGM. Pamela Mburia is the Executive Director of Kilimo Media International, Tabitha Onyinge is the Chief Executive Officer, Deer Leaps Communications while Faith Kimotho is a media and project management consultant.
New members on board
Meanwhile, Medina Asman and Mercy Njoroge joined the board as ordinary members after trouncing two opponents – Janet Mwendwa Kibuthu and Esther Mwangi in the hotly contested elections for the positions.They replace Patience Nyange and Venter Nkatha who did not offer themselves for reelection.
Mercy Njoroge is an experienced journalist with vast knowledge in strategic and development communication. She is currently working at The People Daily newspaper as Senior Sub Editor.
She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Gender and Development Studies (University of Nairobi), A Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Egerton University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication (Kenya Institute of Mass Communication – KIMC).
Medina Asman is a Public Relations Officer at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication Studies and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies majoring in Community Media for Development. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design
