The Secretariat

The Association of Media Women in Kenya prides itself in the rich diversity of its staff who include men and women from different cultural/ethnic backgrounds and non-Kenyans who come through a media women’s regional exchange programme. AMWIK is also assisted by a team of district coordinators in our project areas who are employed on contract basis. AMWIK members also actively contribute to implementation of programmes through writing articles for various publications and newspaper stories as well as producing radio and TV programmes on issues affecting women and children.

Finance & Administration Officer

Bernard Ogoi - Radio Producer

Benard Ogoi, Programmes Officer Radio Production

Benard holds a Diploma in Radio Production from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Public Relations from Moi University. He previously worked as a radio producer at Fish FM based in Eldoret.

Joyce NyaruaiJoyce Nyaruai, Programmes Officer

Joyce holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Communication from Tangaza College and is currently pursuing her Masters of Arts in Development Studies at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).  She previously worked for Youth Arts Development and Entrepreneurship Network (YADEN East –Africa) as a Programmes and Communication Assistant before she joined AMWIK in 2010. She also holds a Certificate in Photography and Audio Visual Communication from the Kenya Polytechnic.

Driver Lawrence Muriithi

Lawrence Muriithi, Driver

Lawrence Muriithi has a long career as a driver spanning over 31 years.


Mercy David, Office Assistant

Mercy has done secretarial studies and has worked with AMWIK for several years ensuring that all admin matters run smoothly at the secretariat.
