In 2015 she was a fellow in the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Programme for Journalists (Washington DC) and a mentor in the U.S Embassy programme for Female Journalists. She has also trained media for the professional development programme of the Graduate School of Media and Communications at the

 Aga Khan University in Nairobi, an international consultant with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on journalism training in

South Sudan, consultant for Heinrich Böll Stiftung and U.S. Embassy Vernacular Journalists training and election training.

Judie has previously worked as the country coordinator (Kenya) and later as regional coordinator (East Africa) for Germany’s Wayamo Foundation, where she drove high-level human rights advocacy and transitional justice dialogues. Before that, she worked as a journalist and later as an associate editor for Capital FM. She currently chairs the Africa Check Foundation board in Kenya, a subsidiary of Africa Check Trust, Africa’s leading independent fact-checking organization. She regularly speaks on Kenya’s mainstream media about journalism and gender equality. Before joining AMWIK, she was a Gender and a Media trainer with Journalist for Human Rights (JHR).
