NJERI RUGENE APPOINTED HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS IN DP RIGATHI’S OFFICE
AMWIK member and journalist Njeri Rugene has been appointed as the Head of Communication Services in the Office of the Deputy President. This was announced in through the first Executive Order of 2022 by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei on Monday.
Njeri Rugene is a veteran journalist with over 25 years of experience in reporting, writing and editing and currently a Consultant editor and Columnist at Daily Nation. She is also a mentor and
founder of the Woman’s Newsroom Foundation (WON). Njeri graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Literature and Kiswahili, as well as a Post- Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication.
She has been an active member of the Association of Media Women in Kenya for many years, serving as a mentor and coach to many. As the newly appointed Head of Communications in the Deputy President’s office, she will be tasked with creating, delivering and measuring the effectiveness of comprehensive strategic internal and external communications plans within the office of the Deputy President.
