“Civic education is essential in creating the necessary civic awareness, reorienting the national psyche for the new dispensation and engendering robust public engagement in the implementation process,” Musalia said.
“Let us use this opportunity to eliminate propaganda and negative ethnicity in elections. Civic education is critical in facilitating fundamental national transformation, legal and institutional reforms, Musalia added.
Speaking at the same function,Justice Minister Hon. Mutula Kilonzo said that parliament hadfailed to recognize the importance of enacting the Public Finance Bill which would be crucial in facilitating public programmes in the country which would form an essential part in the civic education programme.
Mutula said delay the civic education programme even as the country prepares for the next general election.
“Kenyans now know the importance of their vote, I am appealing to civic educators to be impartial and accurate as they disseminate information on constitution implementation, he said.
