Women Journalist’s Digital Security

According to this survey on Women Journalists’ digital security done by AMWIK and Article 19, approximately 7 out of 10 female journalists in Kenya have experienced online harassment in the course of their work. The nature of harassment include: online bullying, trolling, cyber stalking, defamation/hate speech, online harassment, public shaming, identity theft, hacking amongst other offences. The booklet explores these forms of online violence and gives recommendations on what the media, government and journalists need to do.
