She has been engaged in consultancy work for Peace Pen Communication (PPC) developing programmes for the institution. She reporting of mainstream media stations during the Constitution Referendum campaigns, Media training clinics for vernacular and community radio journalists on reporting on Climate Change across the country. Other PPC projects include Democracy and Governance, Conflict and Resolution, Peace Building, Health and Population, Millennium Development Goals among others.
She also, has been an active member of the Association of Media Women (AMWIK) in Kenya since 1995. As a member, she played a pivotal role in the launch of the Association’s Scholarship Fund and the inaugural visit to Shangilia Children’s Home, now a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for the Association.
She also has been engaged in several projects of the Association, among them training of women political aspirants on image building and media presentation in preparation for the 2013 General Election. Jayne rose was the editor for the ‘Dawn’ Special Edition, an AMWIK publication that profiles women in leadership. She has also been writing articles for the same magazine.
In over 15 years in media and media-related environment, Jayne Rose has gained considerable hands on experience in gathering information, research, writing, reporting, editing, planning, management, mobilization, funding among other tasks. She worked in various Media House departments including, Features, Business, News, Supplements and lifestyle magazines as well as conducting various research projects among them HIV/Aids, The Girl Child, Water and Sanitation, MDGs among others. She has also been instrumental in developing various lifestyle magazines concepts and contents for the Standard Newspapers, Oakland Media, Business Times, Smart Farmer, Smart News, among others.
She has also worked as a Marketing and Media consultant for various individuals among them Uhuru Kenyatta and firms including Serena, Sarova Hotels, Skipix, Keroche, Zim Media, Vera Beauty and Pivot International, Transparency International, Kenya Institute of Management, National Coordination Agency for Population and Development (NCAPD) among others.
Jayne Rose is an alumnus of the University of South Africa (Unisa – Communication) and Business Administration (Kenya Polytechnic). She is mother to two daughters. She holds various certificates and testimonials in various fields including Personal Etiquette, telephone, Speech and feature writing, environmental, tourism, among others. Jayne Rose loves cooking, reading, domestic travel, health and fitness and has a personal interest for the disadvantaged children and women.
