AMWIK’s New Executive Director
It’s a pleasure to welcome Helen Mudora Obande into the AMWIK family. Helen joins AMWIK from United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK) where she worked as the Chief Executive Officer for 5 years. She has also worked with other organizations including the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) Regional office as the programmes and advocacy officer and with Chesire Services Kenya as the National Coordinator. Hellen has vast experience in project management, planning and implementation as well as research and policy advocacy with a strong understanding of human rights and communication in Africa.
She hold a Masters of Arts Degree in women and gender studies from San Fransisco State University, California, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from Moi University, Eldoret and a post graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Hellen is passionate about promoting social justice, development and human rights in Africa among vulnerable populations in Africa.
